This is a picture of a "sofreye haftsin". In the persian culture, for the new years (starting of spring) they decorate their tables with seven things that start with the "S" sound. Each object represents something. This is a material culture because this table setting doesn't mean anything in the european or american culture, it is only in the persian culture that the people set their tables when it gets to their new years.
